LAHORE - The Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervaz Kiani and Taimur Hasan were unanimously elected as the President and Secretary of Pakistan Golf Federation (PGF) for the four year on Monday. Secretary of PGF Taimur Hasan said that Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Islamabad reposed full confidence in the leadership of General Kiani while electing him unopposed. Speaking to the Executive Committee of PGF after the election and AGM, General Kiani lauded the contribution of some outgoing committee members and expressed his satisfaction over the golfing activities in the country. He directed the Secretary Taimur and other members of the new committee for concentrating on the promotion and development of Junior Golf. Taimur Hasan said that PGF Chief decided to double its budget for the juniors golf programme in all areas which has been enhanced to rupees 1.5 million. The elected PGF office bearers are: General Ashfaq Pervaz Kiani (President), Aslam R.Khan, Gen (Rtd) Tariq Saleem (Vice President), Taimur Hasan (Secretary), Mahmood Aziz (Joint Secretary), Col (Rtd) M.Safi (Treasurer). Ahmed Abdul Bari, Asad I.A.Khan, Durdana Soomro (Sindh), Zahid Arbab (Federal Territory), Maj.(Rtd) Arshad Mahmood (NWFP), Brig (Rtd) Akram, Chaudhry Aslam and Mrs.Shami (Punjab), Yasmeen Mubarak were elected member Executive Committee PGF. Lady members included Mrs. Asma Afzal Shami, Mrs. Durdana Soomro, Mrs. Yasmin Mubarik. Professionals members are Matloob Ahmed, and Muhammad Munir while Col (Retd) Nasurallah Khan Khatana coordinator.
