SIALKOT - The robbers and thieves took away cash and other valuables worth millions of rupees in thirteen more strikes here in different parts of the district at Thursday night.
In village Char Bajwa-Phalora, four dacoits stormed into the house of a farmer, Muhammad Shabir and after making hostage all the family members at gunpoint, started looting. The accused looted gold ornaments, cash worth Rs0.5m from there.
Similarly, some thieves took away four sheep from the Havelli of Ghulam Ali in village Chaahal-Phalora. In Daska, thieves broke into a factory of Tanveer Jamal and decamped with the auto parts worth Rs0.2 million from Wazirabad Road locality.
Meanwhile, four dacoits snatched Rs12,000 and mobile phone at gunpoint from a trader Allah Ditta Pulli of village Sattokey. In Sambrial, some bandits looted gold ornaments, cash and other valuables worth Rs0.5 million from the house of a local trader Sami Ullah. Three dacoits snatched Rs32,000 from a trader Zeeshan Ashiq at his shop in Prem Nagar locality of Sialkot city. In the mean time, thieves took away the eight heavy electrical batteries worth Rs0.8m from a cellular company's tower in Qasimpura, Sialkot city. In Model Town Daska city, some accused persons snatched Rs25,000 from a trader Zahid Ali Goraya after braking into his shop.
In village Glotiyaan Kalan, the thieves set ablaze a car of Manzur. In village Thakarkey, four armed dacoits snatched Rs2,700 and mobile phone from a labourer Shabbar Hussain.
In village Goidnkey-Daska, four armed men snatched Rs35,000 from a local trader Muhammad Sadiq and fled away.
Bootlegger held: Police arrested a bootlegger on Qabristan Road and seized ten-litre liquor from him. He was identified as Inayat Changhar of Chak Chatha. Meanwhile, district level sports competitions started in the district on Thursday. District Sports Officer Muhammad Majid said UC Kuriala won the football contest, Chak Chatha UC won Kabaddi contest, Kuriala UC won hockey match while cricket match was won by Martial Kolo Tarar team.
In girls cricket match, team of Govt Girls Hight School defeated DPS team.
