LAHORE – Difa-e-Pakistan Council held countrywide protests and rallies to mark Friday a protest day against resumption of Nato supplies through air and giving MFN status to arch rival India without resolving the core issue of Kashmir.

Demonstrations were held in all major cities after Friday prayers. Highly charged participants burnt the US and Indian flags and chanted slogans against the rulers for anti-Pakistan decisions. During Friday prayers, khateebs highlighted the issue of allowing Pakistani territory and resources to kill fellow Muslims, terming it worst kind of treachery.  In Lahore, a large protest rally was held at Chauburji Chowk. Dawa leader Maulana Ameer Hamza, Muhammad Hasnain Siddiqi, Rao Tahir Advocate, Mian Abdullah, Maulana Idris Farooqi, Ifran Minhais and Abdul Ghafoor Dogar addressed the participants.

Ameer Hamza came hard on the rulers by secretly allowing the Nato supplies and giving MFN status to the enemy country. He said the DPC meeting on Feb 19 in Islamabad would chalk out future line of action regarding both the issues while a siege of parliament House Islamabad would be held on Feb 20. He warned the rulers against selling of vital national security interests for personal benefits and cautioned that angry masses would come out on streets on DPC’s call. He said a wave of anger and unrest had shocked the masses after learning about Nato supplies made through aerial route despite the resolution of the parliament and the decision by the defense committee of the cabinet.
