LAHORE - National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) N-Central have launched two week long special enforcement campaign against the various violations of motorcyclists besides imparting safety tips and distributing educational literature to them and especially focusing compulsory use of safety helmet.
General N-5 Central Zone launched a special enforcement campaign to check the violations of motorcyclists including driving without safety helmet, improper U-turn, careless driving, driving without rear view mirrors and etc.
The NH&MP spokesman said that Mobile Education Unit of N-5 Central is arranging special briefing sessions at different educational institutions, offices of multinational companies and other public places from Lahore to Rahim Yar Khan. In order to make the campaign more effective and meaningful banners containing road safety slogans have been displayed on all the important places on national highways and special road safety stalls have also been installed at all the toll plazas.
DIG Central Zone has instructed the patrol officers to carry on briefing and enforcement of motorcyclists as a permanent feature of their duty as they are the most careless among all types of road users and most vulnerable to any serious accident.
