Our politicians in government as well as those outside the corridors of power are dexterous in using empty rhetoric. They only pay lip service and are not sincere in their actions. Not long ago the Information Minister, Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan expressed her strong determination to take the execrable matter of the NATO attack to the International Court of Justice. I would very humbly request the Minister Sahiba to respect her country's Supreme Court first by getting its verdicts implemented in letter and spirit. Some weeks ago, she along with other PPP stalwarts held a press conference in which she cast aspersions on the august institution of the apex court. She surpassed all limits of morality when she said that Mian Nawaz Sharif was given an effusive welcome by the staff of the venerable court. Not only that but a very serious allegation was leveled against the honorable court that Mian Nawaz Sharif entered into the Supreme Court premises with his lieutenants who were armed with sophisticated weapons. Even a man with a modicum of wit can believe that no person can ever dare entering in the court with ammunition and the story is cooked up to malign the honorable  judges of the highest court of the country. If the minister sahiba does not respect her own country's court, how one can expect her to hold the International Court of Justice in reverence.
