Steps being taken to tackle dengue virus


LAHORE - District Coordination Officer Ahad Khan Cheema said on Friday that precautionary measures are being adopted at Union Council level to escape from possible attack of dengue virus and all district government departments have been activated in this regard.
He was presiding over a meeting regarding anti dengue arrangements on Friday at Town Hall. He said that City District Government has work force of 1500 people that will check the presence of larva in every house of the city and the teams have also been constituted at Union Council level for this purpose.
He said that a full-fledged dengue preventive campaign is being launched at every level in which masses, NGOs, Ulema and other segment of society will take part.
He said that a control room is also being set up by the CDGL regarding dengue epidemic in which complete information will be available.
DCO said that mapping process of district Lahore has also been started. He emphasised the officers to keep a close liaison with other concerned departments for exchanging latest information.
TAKES NOTICE OF NON-PAYMENT OF SALARY: District Coordination Officer Ahad Khan Cheema has taken notice on the nonpayment of salary to a work charge watchman Rameez Raza of TMA Iqbal Town.
He directed the TMO Iqbal Town to pay salary immediately to Rameez Raza and fixed the responsibility of nonpayment of salary to work charge employee.
