ISLAMABAD - The proposed meeting between Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ch Zaka Ashraf and Interior Minister Rehamn Malik regarding the provision of security to visiting Bangladesh cricket team was called off due to minister’s busy schedule as he was in a meeting with President of Iran and Afghanistan. Instead Zaka met with Interior Secretary, DG National Crisis Management Cell and Additional Secretary at Ministry of Interior. PCB COO Subhan Ahmed was also present during the meeting. PCB chairman was briefed regarding provision of security to visiting Bangladesh cricket team at Islamabad and Karachi.
Meanwhile former ICC president Ehsan Mani called on Interior Minister Rehman Malik at his office and Malik urged Mani to use his influence as former ICC president for the revival of Pakistan-India cricket. Malik also promised to provide Bangladesh cricket team box security and said people of Pakistan and Bangladesh are cricket-loving nations and the proposed tour must go on as per schedule.
