Imran terms killing of FC men barbaric act

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan Monday said that the killing of 23 FC personnel was a barbaric act and against the teachings of Islam. “Such acts of barbarism must be condemned in the strongest terms,” he added.
In a statement here, Imran hoped that the government and military would let the nation know the veracity or otherwise of this shocking news. He also expressed concern over the fact that these FC men had been held prisoner since 2010 in an area - Mohmand Agency - that had ostensibly been ‘cleared’ by the military. Yet the government at the time, the military and the present government, had all done nothing to secure the release of these soldiers who seemed to have been simply forgotten. Imran said that the nation should be told why this neglect had happened. “Each Pakistani’s life is precious and our soldiers have suffered martyrdom for safeguarding the country and should never be abandoned like this,” he said. “Clearly this is also a direct sabotage of the peace talks in the most barbaric way possible,” he added.
IMRAN WANTS TO GIVE HIGH STATUS TO TTP: AITZAZ
Online from Lahore adds: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan wants to give a high status to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), stated senior PPP leader Aitzaz Ahsan while talking to the media in Lahore. He said the government accepted TTP as a stakeholder when it decided to negotiate with them but the PTI chief wants to give an even greater position to the TTP.
The senior PPP leader added that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif as well as Imran should rethink their stance on peace negotiations after TTP claimed responsibility for killing 23 FC men.
Talking about PPP’s standpoint, Ahsan said that his party did not expect anything from the peace talks since the first day.
