KARACHI- Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said the continued targeted killings of doctors, lawyers, professors, journalists, political workers, religious scholars and other common people are an open proof of the failure of Karachi operation initiated by the government.

Hafiz Naeem strongly condemned the recent attacks on private TV channels, and said the government and law enforcing agencies should take effective steps to restore peace in the city.

He further demanded to award exemplary punishment to the arrested target killers.

Expressing his deep concerns on the uncertain law and order situation of the city, Hafiz Naeem said that it seemed that the government had given free hand to criminal elements to carry on their illegal activities.

“Dozens of innocent people have lost their lives on daily basis while unidentified bodies have also been found from different areas of the city, however; the government and LEA’s officials have not yet taken any step towards controlling the prevailing situation” he regretted.
