MULTAN: The Multan International Airport is likely to be inaugurated by the Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif by the end of ongoing month as work on the new airport is in final stage, disclosed Civil Aviation (CAA) Sources.

The inauguration of the airport was delayed because of non-availability of furniture and incomplete sewerage system. Sources said that the furniture had been imported from Italy and it would be shipped to Multan within one or two days. Similarly, the work on sewerage line is also done by 75 per cent and the prime minister is likely to inaugurate the airport on February 27 or 28. Sources said that the secretary CAA Muhammad Ali Gardezi also visited Multan to review work underway at the airport. The CAA sources claimed that the training of airport staff had been done while the furniture installation would also begin within a couple of days.–Staff Reporter
