LAHORE - The two-day Pakistani English Conference commenced at Kinnaired College yesterday.
The speakers including Adrian Hussain, Cara Cilano, Javed Jabbar, Waseem Ahmad and others highlighted highlight the intellectual, creative and critical aspects of Pakistani writing in English and its place in the contemporary international literary scenario.
Scholars, researchers and academics from different cities and universities of Karachi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Islamabad, and Quetta etc presented papers on the contribution of current practitioners of the Pakistani creative and critical writing.
ICPWE’s first publication, The Last Tea, also got critical attention in the conference. Panel discussions, critical questions were also held. On the second day of the conference, Prof Pein Boga, Ms Syrrina Ahsan, Dr Summer Pervez, Qaisar Mehmood, Aysha Fatima Barque and others will present their papers.
An interactive session on Face to face with Kanza Javed and Zeenat Mahal will be held.
The ICPWE is the only Centre of Excellence in the world that focused creating critical work. It focused on Pakistani novelists, playwrights, poets, essayists, authors, translators and critics.
