Lahore: The Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) on Thursday challenged the statement of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif regarding NAB in Lahore High Court.

PTI Lawyers’ Wing President Gohar Nawaz Sindhu has taken a stance that the National Accountability Bureau was an independent and sovereign institution and not functioning under the command of PM Secretariat, but the prime minister has attempted to influence it by issuing a controversial statement.

He prayed the court to take notice of the prime minister’s statement in the larger public interest.

While addressing party workers in Bahawalpur two days back, Nawaz said that the NAB has been harassing government officials and they were afraid to perform their duties due to the alleged harassment by the anti-graft body.
