PESHAWAR - A leader of Ahl-e-Sunnah Waljammat and a renowned religious scholar Qari Rafiullah was assassinated by unknown kidnappers. His beheaded body was found from Mattani area in the outskirts of Peshawar on Saturday. The armed kidnappers had kidnapped Qari Rafiullah from Taro Jabba area. Having heard the news of his kidnapping, a large number of his followers had come on the streets and blocked the main GT Road. Later, after successful negotiations of the local police with son of Qari Rafiullah, the angry protestors peacefully dispersed on the condition of his safe recovery within 48-hour. But unfortunately the unknown militants killed him somewhere in Khyber Agency. The militants also put a letter along with his dead body reading, "Its the destiny of the false faith healers who are misguiding the people". Police took the dead body of Qari Rafiiullah and shifted it to Hayatabad Medical Complex for post-mortem. It is believed that a defunct organization, Aljihad, is responsible for the kidnapping and killing of Qari Rafiullah. It is worth mentioning that a few days back a famous Pahstoon artist Alamzeb Mujahid was also kidnapped by the militants from Hayatabad area, who was later on released on the condition to give up his profession.
