QUETTA - Security has been tightened at Quetta airport after the intelligence agencies information regarding possible attempts to hijack PIA planes while security forces arrested an accused person and recovered a pistol from his possession at Quetta airport on Saturday. According to sources, after receiving information from the Interior Ministry, a red alert has been announced at all airports to frustrate any attempt of terrorists to hijack PIA planes. In the wake of information, security has also been tightened at Quetta airport and search of passengers has been increased. Sources said that, besides airport security forces, personnel of Frontier Corps (FC) had also been deployed at Quetta airport to avert any untoward incident. Meanwhile, airport security forces recovered a pistol from a vehicle within the area of Quetta airport and arrested an accused person. Quetta airport sources said that driver of a government official identified as Zakir Hussain came to airport to pick a passenger. During search of vehicle by airport security force, an unlicensed pistol was recovered. The security forces took the driver into custody and started further investigations.
