OKARA - A three-day anti-polio campaign was launched here during which children under 5 years of age will be vaccinated across the district.

DCO Syed Gulzar Hussain Shah inaugurated the anti-polio drive by administering anti-polio drops to children at DHQ Hospital here the other day.

Speaking on the occasion, he claimed that strict measures would be put in place for the ongoing polio campaign while stern action would be taken against those who would try to hamper the campaign.

He said that the government was keen in the eradication of polio from the country because it has become a serious threat to the lives of children.

He urged the District Health officials to keep close watch over the activities of the vaccination team.

DPO Dr Haider Ashraf, EDO Health Dr Saeed Ullah Khan, DO Health Dr Muhammmad Athar and DHQ Hospital MS Dr Qari Abbas were also present on the occasion.
