Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain has said that the government is committed to restore peace and negotiations would be given top priority to achieve the purpose.

Talking to media here on Friday, the provincial minister said that the government held talks with Taliban in the past but latter failed to implement the agreement.

He said that JUI, JI, PML-N and PPP were contacted to chalk out mutual roadmap against the terrorism, adding that all the political and religious parties gave positive response.

He said that the provincial government has talked to the president regarding the issue while the prime minister and the army chief would also be contacted on the matter.
