LAHORE - Quality standard of packaging of exports goods play pivotal role for boosting export orientation and provides an insight into the current developments in the field of functional packaging. Experts opined this while addressing a one-day seminar on innovative packaging for boosting exports held under the auspices of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) at a local hotel here on Thursday.

Addressing the seminar Incharge Department of Plant Protection Dr. Muhammad Ishfaq Rao highlighted those issues pertaining to labeling regulations.

He apprised the participants about the short comings which happened while packaging of the products from Pakistan to other countries.

Syed Atif Ali, Deputy Sales Manager from Roshan Packages highlighted the packaging dynamics for better quality results. “Worldwide market for packaging is $450 billion in 2012 and it is forecasted to increase by $500 billion till 2015, he maintained. While elaborating the high rate of product wastage, he said it is due to improper handling and lack of research and development in the sector.
