LAHORE - Punjab University Institute of Communication Studies in collaboration with Maulana Zafar Ali Khan Trust celebrated 139th birth anniversary of Maulana Zafar Ali Khan Thursday.
The ceremony was presided over by senior journalist Mujeebur Rahman Shami while Trust Chairman Khalid Mahmood, CPNE President Jameel Athar, Sajjad Mir, faculty members of the institute and a large number of students attended.
Addressing the ceremony, Shami said Zafar Ali Khan sacrificed a lot for the independence of Muslims. He Maulana confronted all difficulties bravely.
He said we could put the country of the path of progress by following the footstep of Maulana.
On the occasion, PU ICS director Dr Ahsan Akhtar Naz said Zafar Ali Khan was a brave and matchless journalist.
Other speakers also paid tribute to Maulana Zafar for his services in the field of journalism. Later, the participant cut a cake to celebrate birth anniversary of legendary journalist.
