KARACHI - Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) look all set to clinch the inaugural President’s Cricket Trophy when the play start on Friday the last day of the five-day final against Habib Bank here at the National Stadium.

HBL trailing by huge 328 runs deficit have slumped to 169 for six in the second innings still 159-run away with four tail end wickets in hand from the possible winning target at the end of the fourth day on Thursday.

SNGPL had scored 283 in the first innings and had bowled HBL for 137. SNGPL slumped for 182 in the second innings after Umar Gul had taken six wickets. Facing a huge task to score 329 for possible victory, HBL lost six wickets for 169 and looked all doomed to lose the final. When play resumed on Thursday morning, SNGPL resumed its second innings at 177 for nine and the innings folded at 182. For the second time in the match, HBL repeated its batting failure and were 169 for six at the close. Asad Shafiq hit fine 58 for the bankers.
