LAHORE – A 21-year-old youth shoot himself in a temple outside the Services Hospital late Wednesday, police said on Thursday. It was yet to be ascertained what compelled the youth to commit suicide.

Eyewitnesses told the Race Course police that the youth, later identified as Daanish, was talking to someone on his cellular phone when suddenly he started shouting. The youth took out his pistol and shot himself in the temple. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced as brought dead.

Police identified the deceased as the resident of Faisalabad and said that his mother was working as housemaid at a house in the Defense area. The police are investigating.

Murdered: The police have begun investigations to probe into the killing of a 27-year-old motorcyclist, who was gunned down in the Misri Shah area late on Wednesday night.

Resident of Shadbagh, Muhammad Iqbal, was on his way home when unidentified motorcyclists shot him dead near the Ghoray Shah Chowk. Police believed that the deceased had old enmity with a local group.

The police have registered the murder case and are investigating with no arrest made yet.

Wounded: Dacoits shot at and wounded the manager director of a private bus company on offering resistance during road robbery on the Wahdat Road late on Wednesday night. Police sources said that Tahir Khan Niazi was on his way home when four gunmen intercepted him in the limits of Wahdat Colony police.

As he offered resistance, the robbers shot at and wounded him and escaped after snatching cash and mobile phone from him. The injured was rushed to a local hospital in serious condition. The police are investigating.
