KARAK - Karak police sized 20 vehicles loaded with cattle being smuggled to Afghanistan on Friday.

The police sources informed that SHO of Banda Daud Shah Police Station Ghani Khan while acting on a tip off blocked the Banda-Tall Road at Banda Daud Shah along with police party and stopped 20 vehicles loaded with cows and buffalos.

 Police also arrested 20 people who were smuggling the cattle to Afghanistan via Banda-Tall Road and on interrogation the accused claimed that there were total 536 cows and buffalos, which they were smuggling to Afghanistan.

The accused, after preliminary investigations, shifted to some unknown location and the vehicles were compounded outside the Banda Daud Shah police station.

Police registered FIR against the accused and started investigations.

Meanwhile, police also recovered two motorcars lifted from Islamabad from the limitations of Domail Police Station on the pinpoint of the ringleader of the car lifters group Tahir Nawaz who was arrested by the police the other day in Saraki Lawagher area of Karak.

Police sources claimed that Tahir Nawaz and his accomplice Muazam Sohail were arrested by the police one day ago along with stolen motorcar from Sarki Lawagher area and during interrogation they also pinpointed the other motorcars lifted by their group.

SHO Karak police station Muhammad Riaz along with police party raided their hideouts in the limits of Domail Police Station and recovered two motorcars lifted by the group from Islamabad.

On the occasion, District Police Officer Atiquallah Wazir claimed while talking to local media persons that police would not tolerate kidnapping, car lifting and extortion incidents.
