ISLAMABAD – M Mudassar made the biggest upset of the day as he toppled seasoned Sanaullah Khan in the pre-quarterfinals of the Subh-e-Nau National Clay Court Tennis Championship. Muddassar easily won the match 6-2, 6-2. In another upset of the day, Talha Bin Arif shocked Syed Yawar Abbas 6-4, 7-6(4) in boys U-18 pre-quarterfinal. In the men’s singles, top seed Aqeel Khan beat Shehzad 6-4 and 6-1 while Shehzad Khan knocked out Ahmed Babar 6-3, 6-2. Usman Rafiq beat M Muzammil 6-3, 6-4, M Abid beat Adnan Khan 6-0,6-0, Yasir Khan beat Raja Shahid 6-2,6-1 and Heera Ashiq beat Imran Shokat 5-7,6-0, 6-2. In boys singles U-18: M Muzammil beat Asad Khan 6-0, 6-0, Nofil Kaleem beat Zeeshan Ashraf 6-4, 6-4, Hamza beat Talha Sohail 6-2, 6-1, Zaid Mujahid beat Hasnain 6-2, 6-0 and Abdal Haider beat Arbab Ali 6-1,7-5. –Staff Reporter
