SIALKOT - Assuring the industrialists of full cooperation for promotion of trade and exports, the federal minister for commerce has said that the government is encouraging value-addition in export sector on priority basis.

Addressing an oath-taking ceremony of office-bearers of Daska Engineering and Industrial Association, Khurram Dastgir said that value addition in the sector was the key to establish a strong industrial basis and economic stability in the country. He said the government was providing level playing field to the traders, industrialists and exporters despite facing a challenging situation in the country. He assured the business community of developing trade activities by taking them into confidence. He said that the government would enable the trade and export sectors to meet the international challenges under the WTO Regime.

The federal minister added that the government was making hectic efforts to ensure proper growth of exports and to bring the economic stability in the country. He said that the proper export growth and trade development was being ensured through establishing a proper mechanism of proper mutual mechanism of cooperation in all the departments under the broad economic development vision of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

He narrated that the government will open new trade opportunity, urging the traders, industrialists and exporters to focus on the diversification of their traditional export products to non-traditional by exploring and capturing new international trade markets. He said that the government was fully aware of the problems being faced by the business community and making efforts to solve them.

Earlier, Dastgir administrated oath to the newly elected office-bearers during a ceremony held at Daska.
