LAHORE - A 22-year-old woman expired on Saturday, shortly after a quack administered her wrong injection during delivery at a private clinic in Hanjarwal, police sources have said. A nine-month pregnant woman, identified as Shumaila Bibi, was admitted to Huzaifa hospital for delivery where fake doctor Saifullah administered her wrong injection. The resident of Murghzar Colony died instantly and the quack fled the scene.
Relatives of the deceased staged a strong protest demonstration against the killing. They blocked the traffic by putting the body in middle of the road. Later, the police reached the spot and shifted the body to the morgue for autopsy.
A police investigator said that the doctor was running the clinic-cum-hospital illegally since he had no license to practice medicines. The police have registered a murder case against the doctor and are investigating.
SUICIDE: An 18-year-old boy ended his life by consuming poisonous chemical in Lower Mall area, police said. The family told the police that Kamran took chemical after a brief altercation with his parents over some domestic issue. He was rushed to a hospital where he expired later. Police handed over his body to the family without autopsy.
KILLED: Two men died when a car bumped into their motorcycle on the Ring Road, police said on Saturday evening.
The accident took place because of overspeeding. Police reached the spot and moved the bodies to the morgue. Further investigations were underway.
