As many as 212 women would be elected on reserved local bodies seats and play a key in the development of Gujranwala Division. There are 23 special seats reserved for female candidates in three municipal corporations, 85 seats reserved for women in six Zila Councils and 104 seats are reserved for women in 26 municipal committees in Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad and Gujranwala districts.

Female workers of different political parties including PML-N , PTI and PPP have urged the provincial and district leadership of their parties to get loyal, sincere, enthusiastic and potential workers elected on these special seats instead of obliging their blue-eyed persons. According to the senior officials of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), 15 seats are reserved for women in Gujranwala Municipal Corporation, 15 seats in Zila Council Gujranwala and 29 seats in Gujranwala’s 7 municipal committees; five seats in Municipal Corporation Sialkot, 15 seats in Zila Council Sialkot and 14 seats in three municipal committee in Sialkot district.

Likewise, three seats are reserved for women in Municipal Corporation Gujrat, 15 in Zila Council Gujrat and 20 in six municipal committees in Gujrat district, 15 in Zila Council Mandi Bahauddin and 12 in three in its municipal committees, 10 seats in Zila Council Hafizabad and 14 in four municipal committees in Hafizabad district, 15 in Zila Council Narowal while 15 seats have been reserved for women in three municipal committees of Narowal district.
