Abbas crowned Rehana Nazar Jr Squash champion

ISLAMABAD - Abbas Zeb crowned U-19 category champion in the 7th Rehana Nazar Rashidabad National Junior Squash 2018 after routing top seed M Uzair Rasheed 3-1 in the final at Rehana Nazar Squash Complex Rashidabad District Tando Allayar on Wednesday.

Abbas lost the first game 13-15, but then he bounced back in style and took the second game 11-9, third 11-1 and fourth 11-1, thus won the final. He received Rs 11,400 cash and championship trophy, while Uzair got Rs 7,800 cash and runner-up trophy.

M Haris won the U-17 title as he thrashed Saqib Iqbal 3-0 in the final. He won the final by 11-9, 11-5, 11-3. The winner earned Rs 9,500 cash while the runner-up Rs 6,500 cash. Asadullah won the U-15 title after outclassing Hammad Khan 3-0 (11-4, 11-7, 11-2). The winner received Rs 7,600 cash and the runner-up Rs 5,200. M Ammad won the U-13 title by beating Usman Nadeem 3-0 (11-7, 11-4, 11-8) and got Rs 5,700 while the runner-up received Rs 3,900. Anas Bukhari won the U-11 title, as he beat M Hanif 3-0 (11-9, 11-9, 11-6) and got Rs 5,700 and the runner-up Rs 3,900.

Amna Fayaz stunned top seed Komal Khan in straight games 3-1 (11-8, 11-9, 11-4) to win the U-19 title and got Rs 9,500 cash while runner-up received Rs 6,500 cash. In U-15 final, Zaynab Khan upset Nimra Aqeel 3-0 (11-9, 11-4, 11-9) to win the title and Rs 7600 cash and Nimra received Rs 5200 cash.

Major General M Ali, GOC 18 Division, graced the concluding ceremony as chief guest and awarded trophies and prizes to the winners and runner-ups. RMWO president Air Commodore (r) Shabbir Ahmed and RMWO CEO Iqbal Samad were also present on the occasion.
