ISLAMABAD:- Justice (retired) Javed Iqbal has ordered an inquiry into the increase in the construction cost of Kachhi Canal from estimated Rs30 billion to Rs210 billion due to corrupt practices. According to a statement issued by the NAB on Wednesday, the NAB chairman took notice of corruption and embezzlement in the construction and expansion of Kachhi Canal.–Staff Reporter

The chairman also ordered conducting inquiry against the director-general (Public Relations), officers of Information and Culture Department Punjab for misuse of authority and causing millions of rupees in losses to the national exchequer.–Staff Reporter
