Rawalpindi-A gang of dacoits intercepted a Daily Nawa-i-Waqt staffer on gunpoint in Sadiqabad area and snatched his camera, mobile phone and other valuables, reliable sources told The Nation on Wednesday.

Police have registered case and began investigation.

According to details, Suhail Shehzad, the photographer of Daily Nawa-I-Waqt, appeared before Police Station Sadiqabad and lodged complaint that he was heading towards his home in Shamasabad when three dacoits intercepted him on gunpoint. The dacoits snatched his two mobile phones, camera and other valuables and fled towards Murree Road. Meanwhile, another citizen also lodged complaint with police that the same gang of dacoits also targeted him and snatched mobile phone and cash. Sources said that police investigators traced location of one of the mobile phones through IT experts and spotted the three dacoits on Murree Road. They carried out raid to arrest them but the culprits managed to escape. However, the police managed to take their motorcycle into custody.

On the other hand, a 15 year old Afghan boy was allegedly kidnapped by unknown abductors from Barki Jadid, Gujar Khan. The abducted boy was identified as Faisal Khan, who hails from Lugman Province, Afghanistan and resides in Gujar Khan. According to details, Zargai Khan, the boy’s father, told the police that his son, Faisal khan left his house on 12/1/2018 but did not return. The family carried out a search but could not find him. He accused unknown men of kidnapping his son. Police registered a case and began investigation.
