Nephews stab man to death

LAHORE - A man was stabbed to death by his three relatives over a property dispute in Gujjarpura police precincts on Wednesday evening. His body was sent to the morgue for an autopsy.  The deceased was identified as Zahid Mahmood, a resident of Bilal Park, Chah Miran.

A relative of the victim told the police that three men stopped Zahid in a street and exchanged words with him. Later, they stabbed Zahid repeatedly and fled. The man died on the spot.

Police said the deceased was attacked by his three nephews, including Nauman, over a property dispute.  The police later arrested Nauman and raids were under way to arrest his accomplices. A murder case was registered against the accused and police launched the investigation.

Constable dies on duty

A police constable on Wednesday suffered a heart attack and died when he was on security duty near Lahore’s Faisal Chowk.  Fifty-five-year-old Mazhar Iqbal was deployed on security duty on The Mall along with thousands of police to guard the protest demonstration by opposition parties. As he suffered a heart attack, he was immediately rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
