BAHAWALPUR - For the provision of cost-efficient and quality services, the Punjab government has launched Speedo Bus Service in Bahawalpur.

Speedo Bus Service was formally inaugurated by Bahawalpur Mayor Aqeel Najam Hashmi and Deputy Commissioner Rana Saleem Afzal by cutting the ribbon at Main Terminal of General Bus Stand Bahawalpur. The mayor and the deputy commissioner rode the speedo bus along with other officials and civil society members.

In accordance with the speedo bus project, a total of 12 buses will be providing the commute service to the public and it will be free on first two days of the inauguration. These luxury buses will not only provide comfortable and fully air-conditioned commute facility but also save them from expensive transports.

Twelve buses of Speedo Bus Service project will be driven by 24 fully trained drivers. They have been provided special training for safe travel.

During duty, drivers will wear special speedo bus service uniform (sky blue shirt and navy blue pants with a cap). The drivers have been directed to deal politely with passengers. Daewoo Pakistan Express Bus Service will provide technical support and coordination to the speedo bus service. The speedo bus’ fare list has been issued by the secretary District Transport Authority according to which 10, 20, and 30 rupee will be charged depending upon the distance travelled.

The speedo bus has stops at Karachi Morr, Bindra Pulli, General Bus Stand, Fareed Gate, Dring Stadium, DC Office Chowk, One Unit Chowk, Technology College, Mailaywali Gali, Baghdad Campus Islamia University and 10/BC.
