Bilawal, Zardari plan to give tough time to govt

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan People’s Party chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari yesterday vowed to give tough time to the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf-led government. Bilawal and Zardari held several meetings at Zardari House Islamabad to finalise strategy for the February 27 long march against government. Both leaders were called on by the president PPP Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chaudhry Yasin and discussed preparations with regards to the long march starting from Karachi on February 27.  PPP AJK secretary general Faisal Rathore also called on the PPP Chairman and apprised him of the arrangements for the long march. The president PPP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Najmuddin Khan called on Chairman PPP along with Shahzada Khalid Pervez, the son of Shahzada Mohiuddin from Chitral who left the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) and announced to join the PPP. A delegation of Gilgit Baltistan also called on the Chairman PPP. The delegation was led by the president PPP GB, Advocate Amjad along with Sher Jahan Mir, Mir Afzal both former chief ministers GB, former ministers Abdul Jahan, Waqar Mandooq, the former Inspector General police, Afzal Shigri, D. Sharif and Imran Nadeem. The political situation in GB and the long march were discussed in the meeting. Sardar Nabeel Gabol also called on former president Asif Ali Zardari. 

 

The political situation in the country and the public campaign regarding long march were discussed in the meeting. During the meetings, Bilawal and Zardari directed the party leaders and workers to fully participate in the long march against the government.

They stressed that the government must be ousted to protect interests of the people who were ‘crushed’ by the growing inflation.

The PPP leadership was optimistic that the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan will be successful.
