Governor Punjab recently administered the oath to the 21st Chief Minister of Punjab in the Darbar Hall of the Governor House. It was painful to see the picture of Ms Benazir hanging on the wall above that of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal. Without any disrespect to Ms Buhtto, it was outrageous to see the sycophancy displayed by the staff of the Governor House. They showed disrespect to the two figures whose portraits have always been displayed above all at every government institution without any exception. Through the columns of this newspaper I would appeal to the judges of the Superior Courts to take suo moto notice of this act and ensure that in future no one dares to disrespect our great leaders with the intention to get political mileage out of it.
