LAHORE As many as three matches were played in the Lahore Premier League on Saturday and Pak Asia Lahore Defenders, Hajveri Juices Lahore Guards and Mega Events Lahore Stars registered triumphs. Lahore Defenders beat Razi Pharma Lahore Wizards by six wickets. Razi Pharma made 155 runs while Lahore Wizards achieved the score losing four wickets. Lahore Guards beat Gourmets Lahore Shaheens by four wickets. The losing team made 149 runs and in reply, Lahore Guards reached the score losing six wickets. Lahore Stars beat Mughal Lahore Lions by 13 runs. Stars gathered 248 for all and Lions could reach 235 runs. Earlier, Coca-Cola Lahore Thunders won a thriller against Sufi Lahore Sufis by three wickets. Sufis made 302 for six but Thunders achieved the mammoth score losing seven wickets. Usman Salahuddin hit 118 not out to help Thunders achieve the score. President LCCA Khawaja Nadeem gave the man of the match award to the century-maker. Bank Alfalah team coach Ijaz Shah has praised the organisation of the Premier League and believed that it would go a long way in bringing talent out of the pool of cricketers. He said that the league has also activated several inactive clubs and ultimately cricket would achieve from it.
