QUETTA - Alleging for ignoring merit and observing favouritism in appointments in 5,000 jobs under Aghaz-e-Haqooq Balochistan Package, Pakhtunkhawa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP) has demanded the government to immediately cancel all appointments and re-conduct the whole process with transparency. Government posts were distributed among near and dear on the basis of favouritism and PkMAP will organise demonstrations and public meeting across the Balochistan to register its protest. PkMAP provincial President, Usman Kakar, flanked by other leaders expressed these views while addressing a Press conference here on Saturday. He said Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani had promised that 20,000 jobs would be given to the jobless graduates and post graduates of Balochistan but only 5,000 jobs were announced so far. He alleged that high ups of provincial government completely violated the merit criteria during appointments process and neglected deserving and competent youth. Just announcing 5,000 jobs in education department and recruiting without conducting proper tests and interviews created distress among the youth of Balochistan, he added. PKMAP leader demanded that the youth of Balochistan should be given jobs in federal departments, including Railways, Customs and PIA as it was their right. He regretted that appointments of Assistant Lectures were made by Deputy Commissioners in the districts while it was the task of Public Service Commission to take tests and interviews. He announced that PKMAP would hold protest demonstrations and public meetings from August 1, in different towns of Balochistan which would be continued till August 5, and appealed the people to support this movement. He demanded that government should immediately cancel all appointment letters issued under Balochistan Package and conduct fresh tests and interviews so that deserving and eligible students could get jobs. To a query, he said if their demand was not accepted they would not hesitate to knock the doors of judiciary.
