Hoarders responsible for sugar crisis: RCCI

RAWALPINDI (APP) - Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) on Saturday said that hoarders are responsible of sugar crisis. There is actually no shortage of sugar, the sugar mill owners has stock more than 1 lakh ton sugar in their godowns. This was stated by the President Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) Kashif Shabir while talking to a group of journalists here.. President RCCI said that hoarders wanted to create artificial shortage of sugar before the advent of Ramzan-ul-Mubarak. Being a Muslim it is our religious obligation to provide articles to the people on cheap rates in Ramzan-ul-Mubarak, he added. He said that the government should take stern action against the hoarders so that people could get sugar without standing in queues on easy rates. Kashif said that Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) only provides articles in the market and it has no direct link with the market.
