WAH CANTT - The garrison city of Taxila is facing serious threats as residents have let portions of their houses on rent without entering the names of their occupants in spite the clear orders of the police for collecting the complete record of their tenants. Sources on the condition of anonymity informed this reporter that a sensitive agency on a tip-off combed the various localities of Taxila Cantonment, located near to some sensitive defence industries, and gathered information that many houses owners had not only violating the approved building plan but also altering different portions of their houses and gave it to different people on rent including students and daily wagers and violating the Standing Order Procedure (SoP), issued by the police department that the owner of house must collect the data of his house tenants, including photocopy of CNIC and submit it with the local police station. Various residential areas situated near the garrison city become a potential threat due to these two factors. It has been learnt that the officials of the Cantonment Board Taxila (CBW) are well aware of the fact but they turned blind eyes towards lapse to national kitty and security lapse after allegedly getting undue share from the owners of these houses. As various sensitive defence installations were located in the area, such lapse on the part of police and civic bodies could lead to serious threat to these industries. The sensitive agency suggests the complete survey of the area so that the data of the all residents could be recorded and action against the house owners for violation of building plan and not submitting the data of the people living on rent in their houses to the nearest police station.
