KURRUM AGENCY As many as 18 passengers including seven women were killed and six other got injured when miscreants opened fire on a convoy heading towards Peshawar from Parachinar under the supervision of political administration of Kurrum Agency on Saturday. According to details, the convoy of vehicles was targeted with rockets and automatic weapons at Charkhel area of lower Kurrum Agency. Resultantly 18 passengers including seven women lost their lives and six other got injured. Five vehicles of the convoy were also damaged in the gory incident. The injured were shifted to Tall Hospital where condition of two of them was stated to be critical. The dead bodies were shifted to their respective areas in Parachinar. The security forces cordoned off the area and started inquiry into the case. It is worth mentioning here that 14 passengers were also killed at Wazha area of Paktia province, Afghanistan, last week when they left Parachinar for Peshawar via neighbouring country. Meanwhile, MNA Sajid Tori has demanded of the Government to take practical measures for providing security to the masses and open the route between Peshawar and Parachinar for traffic that has been closed for the last three years. Later during a press conference at Parachinar, the leaders of Muttahida Quami Movement said that the miscreants were openly operating against innocent people and no effective step had been taken by the responsible quarters against them so far. They demanded of the Government to take practical steps in this regard.
