ISLAMABAD (Online) Chairman National Assembly Standing Committee on Education, Abid Sher Ali has accused Sindh Home Minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza of pressurising HEC to stop process of degrees verification of parliamentarians. Talking to a private TV channel, he said that the HEC is being pressurised to stop process of verification of degrees to save PPP government in Sindh. He opined that if degrees are to be verified by Sindh University according to merit, then several members of Provincial Assembly would be declared ineligible. Responding to a question, Abid said the media is cooperating with him on fake degrees issue, however some journalists are creating problems for him. Asked about position of PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif on the issue, he said that Nawaz has no objections on MPs degrees verification. He said that after the verification of degrees of MPs, degrees of employees of private and govt educational institutions, doctors, engineers and officers would be verified in the second and third stage.
