LAHORE With his natural ability and insightful attacking play, Karachi Energys front-line player Muhammad Rasool is well on the way to become leading scorer in the second edition of the Super Football League (SFL) 2010 at Karachis Peoples Sports Complex, Mauripur Road, Lyari Town. Muhammad Rasool struck twice against Tribe FC Peshawar and one each against Quetta Zorawar and Islamabad United for total of personal four goals in the 23-match competition. Chitral-born Rasool rose to eminence in 2006 with gold medal in the 10th South Asian Games at Colombo and blistering goal against Japan in the 15th Asian Games Group-F clash, beating keeper Matsui Kenya all ends up at Qatar Sports Club Stadium. He also played his part nicely when Pakistan overwhelmed Singapore in both the legs of Beijing Olympics Qualifiers three years ago. Twenty-four year old striker, who has the tendency to convert half chance into net, was discovered by former Pakistan coach Salman Ahmed Shareeda (Bahrain) when country-wide open trials were held in all the cities under the directives of Pakistan Football Federation (PFF)s President Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat. Salman called him for the 14th Asian Cup Qualifiers 2006 where he was among 11 strikers out of 42 players tested by the coach now looking after Bahrains Muharraq FC. Rasool, who took transfer from KRL to KESC last year, is one of the three players who have the honour of finishing leading scorer in the Pakistan Premier Soccer League when he topped the hitmen list in 2008 for Khan Research Laboratories (Others being Wapdas Arif Mehmood, representing Lahore Lajpaals in current league, in 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2009 and Armys Imran Hussain in 2005).
