Arrangements for fundraiser completed

The arrangements for upcoming T-20 cricket match between national team and regional eleven at Multan Cricket Stadium on July 21 have been done and the sale of tickets has begun. The match is being held to generate funds for extending financial support to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from North Waziristan and Multanites will be able to see the stars from national cricket team in action live at their stadium. The match will be held in floodlights and it will start at 10:00 pm.
The DCO Zahid Saleem Gondal said that a big cricket event was being held in Multan after a long time and the citizens should come to the ground in large numbers with a passion to support their displaced brothers and sisters. He added that the families of martyrs would be made special guests on this occasion.
Referring to the match, he said that the regional team would give a tough time to national team and the match would be telecast live. He added that all arrangements for the boarding and lodging of teams would be made by the district administration. He issued order for the repair of lights of stadium and directed Mepco to install stand-by generators. He said that commandoes from Elite Force would be deployed for the security of the teams.
Provincial minister Ch. Abdul Waheed Arrain said that stalls would be set up at educational institutions and public places for the sale of tickets. Earlier, the representatives of Pakistan Cricket Board brief the participants of meeting on the match.
