Five more shot dead in Karachi

KARACHI  - Five people were killed in different areas of Karachi on Thursday.
Gunmen shot dead the sector incharge of Sunni Tehreek in Shahrah-e-Faisal police precincts.
Police said Adnan Qadri and his friend Farhan aka Shani were buying fruits at Block 20, Gulistan-e-Jauhar when six gunmen on three motorbikes came close to them and sprayed bullets. The Assailants managed to flee from the scene.
Both the victims were rushed to the hospital where Qadri succumbed to injuries while Shani admitted with critical bullet wounds.
Separately, a man was shot dead here in the jurisdictions of Shah Latif police station. Police said Abdul Aziz, 18, was shot dead by his own friend Barohi over unknown dispute. Police said both the friends were going to some place when Barohi shot him dead and managed to escape. The motive behind the murder has yet to be ascertained.  
Meanwhile, Pak Colony police found a torture-marked body near the Love Lane Bridge while another body was found from the jurisdictions of Mehmoodabad police station near Chaniser Goth Graveyard. On the other side, Maripur police found another gunny-packed body near from Hawks Bay area. The bodies were shifted to morgue for identification after autopsy where one of the victim was identified as Hanif Lal. He was shot dead in Chaniser Goth area of Mehmoodabad police station. 
Police claimed to have shot dead two alleged car lifters in Defence police precincts. Police said four gunmen snatched a car (BBM-288) and were trying to escape from Gizri area when police on routine patrolling saw the suspicious car and tried to intercept them.
An exchange of fire took place in which two car lifters and a passerby sustained bullet wounds while rest of their accomplices were managed to flee. The wounded culprits were rushed to the hospital where doctors pronounced their deaths.
The passerby identified as Shakeel was admitted to hospital. Police shifted the bodies to morgue for identification after autopsy.
One of the culprits was identified as Umeed Baloch who hailed from Balochistan. His accomplice has yet to be identified.
In another encounter, Docks police arrested a gangster with bullet wounds after an exchange of fire. The wounded gangster Ahsan Mian and his comrades came to collect the extortion amount when police rushed to the spot. During an exchange of fire, Ahsan was arrested while his accomplices fled.
