Peshawar Skill Development Project

PESHAWAR - After completion of two months skilled development programme, the Foundation for Rural Development (FRD) with the support of Peshawar Uplift Programme (PUP) formally closed the Skill Development for Economic Uplift Project in Peshawar.
The closing ceremony was also attended by the management of FRD. On this occasion, the participants were shown the products (woolen stuff) prepared by trainees. Some of the participants also demonstrated at the moment to show the participants that how knitting machine is working and how women got the skill.
The CEO FRD welcomed the guests and told that core objective of the project was women empowerment and skill enhancement of semi-skilled women with a view to enable them to support male members of their families in bread earning and enhancing their family income for a prosperous and dignified life.
He said in fact this is not a closing ceremony but an initiation and first step towards changing the life style of a family. He advised the trainees that this is the time to support their families and achieve the desired objectives of the project.
He said the FRD would support the potential skilled women in terms of displaying their products at the Women Business Development Centre and in promotion of their businesses.
The Peshawar Uplift Programme Representative Badsha Hazrat congratulated the trainees on successful completion of two months skill development training and entrepreneurship workshop.
He advised the participants to exploit the opportunity and work in groups to get maximum benefit with minimum cost. The participants were awarded certificates and tool kits (knitting machines and facilitation guide) were distributed among all 40 trainees.
