ISLAMABAD - President Mamnoon Hussain on Friday called the heads of states of Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Afghanistan and Azerbaijan to extend Eid greetings to them, their families and the people of the brotherly Islamic countries.

The President prayed to Allah Almighty to grant acceptance to the prayers offered by them and the people of brotherly countries during the holy month of Ramazan, bless the Muslim Ummah with His bounties and bestow their countries with stability and prosperity.

During the telephonic conversation with the heads of states, the President referred to his recent meetings with them and recalled the good memories.

Talking to King Salman Bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia, the President mentioned the existing deep rooted ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia based on mutual trust and Islamic brotherhood and expressed the hope that these ties will continue to further strengthen with the passage of time.

He said Saudi Arabia under the able leadership of King Salman Bin Abdulaziz was playing excellent role for global peace.

The President felicitated Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on successful holding of elections last month. He thanked the Turkish leader over the cooperation for including Pakistan in Turkish airline's operation of Azerbaijan and said the friendship between Pakistan and Turkey has entered into a historic strategic partnership.

Talking to Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, the President said Pakistan desires peace and stability in Afghanistan and for this purpose it is engaged in sincere efforts. He expressed the hope that these efforts will achieve success, which would create stability in the region. The President said that Pakistan during the recent months has taken various important steps to strengthen its close ties with Afghanistan. The leaders of Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Afghanistan and Azerbaijan thanked the President and prayed for progress and prosperity of the people of Pakistan.
