PPP to remove hunger after winning elections: Sherry Rehman

Opposition leader in Senate Senator Sherry Rehman on Wednesday said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) would work towards removing hunger and providing basic amenities of life to people after coming into power.

“PPP worked hard for the development of Sindh and the people would vote for the party based on their performance in Sindh,” she said, while talking to a private news channel.

The senator further said that the party had introduced the politics of resistance in the country and PPP had introduced the 18th Amendment, while awarding National Finance Commission (NFC) to provinces.

“The rival parties feared Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who had launched a campaign in different parts of the country,” she said. To a question, Sherry Rehman said that the politics of hatred would only wreck democracy.

“Extremism, culture of abusive language and politics of agitation is one of the reasons for terrorism in our country,” she said. The PPP leader urged all the political parties to sit together and completely wipe out terrorism from the country.

She said that the interim-government was responsible in removing the reservations of the political parties. Commenting on Nawaz Sharif, she said that there must be an open court trial for the elements involved in the corruption cases.

She further said that the PPP Leader Asif Ali Zardari had also faced imprisonment due to false cases filed against him during the previous government’s tenure.
