Punjab govt raises minimum pension to Rs.10,000

LAHORE: The caretaker Punjab government on Wednesday raised minimum pension from Rs6,000 to Rs10,000, according to a notification issued by the finance department.

The government has also raised minimum pension of families of retired employees from Rs4,000 to Rs7,500.

Retired employees (75 years and above) will receive Rs15,000 while their widows have now been entitled to receive Rs11,250.

The government has also announced a rise of 7.5, 10 and 15 per cent in pension for retired employees of various grades.

Retired employees living abroad, excluding those in India and Bangladesh, can avail these benefits.
