Additional IG Finance Punjab, Aftab Sultan, has been appointed chief of the NAB team investigating the Bank of Punjab (BoP) scam case. The case's hearing has now been adjourned till July 6, a private TV reported. A three-member Supreme Court bench, headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry, heard the case on Friday. Earlier, the federal government had sent a notification to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) that Aftab Sultan would be assisting with the investigation into the scam. Subsequently, the court ordered the federal government to re-issue the notification and specify that Mr Sultan will be heading the investigation as opposed to simply assisting in it. The court was informed on Thursday that the Establishment Division had issued a new notification stating that Aftab Sultan will be heading the probe.
