ISALAMABAD An official of Islamabad police was killed while three others got bullet injuries by devotees at a shrine on Thursday in the limits of Golra Police Station. According to details, hundreds of devotees led by Haji Ayub and Gulam Sarwar brought a 'Dalli at Sain Fazal Din shrine situated near Golra Police Station. The devotees resorted to firing in air with pistols and automatic guns. On this, a party of Golra police led by ASI Asif rushed to scene and asked to the admirers to stop the firing. Eyewitness and police said that police caught red-handed one accused and put him in a police vehicle. Meanwhile, in a bid to release him, some of the devotees including Siddique and others opened indiscriminate firing on the police party. Resulting, Constable Mustaq Hussain died on the spot, as he received seven bullet injuries while three other police officials also received bullet injuries. The injured police official including ASI Tarab-ul-Hassan, Constables Mustaq belt no 8574, Arshad 7399 and Saleem 2385 were taken to the PIMS for medical treatment and two of them are reportedly in precarious condition. Police sources said that two accused had been arrested while other attackers managed to escape from the scene. Soon after the incident senior police official rushed to the scene for collecting evidences from there. Later, SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan visited PIMS to inquire about the health of injured cops. Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Kaleem Imam has said that those behind this incident would not be spared and they would be booked soon. The IGP said an amount of Rs 2 million would be awarded to the deceased policeman's family. who sacrificed his life for the implementation of law and order. When contacted, police spokesman said that funeral pray of Mustaq would be held at Police Lines Headquarters on Thursday night and then dead body would be sent to cops native home in Gujranwala.
