Indian foreign secretary to visit Pakistan on June 24

Indian Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao would visit Pakistan next week on the invitation of Pakistani foreign secretary Salman Bashir, a private TV channel reported on Friday. Foreign Office spokesperson Abdul Basit told media that the two dignataries would meet on June 24. All the outstanding issues between the two countries would likely to be taken up in the scheduled meeting. It merits to mention that an impasse was formed in the dialogue process between the two countries since the Mumbai attacks for which India held Pakistan responsible. Ever since, India termed terrorism issue resolution as a condition for resumption of talks with Pakistan.
