LAHORE The Pakistan Cricket Board has hit back at critics who are spreading reports of friction between the PCB chairman Ijaz Butt and its COO Wasim Bari denying reports of the resignation of Wasim Bari. There were rumours that PCB chairman Ijaz Butt asked its COO Wasim Bari to resign. There were also reports that Bari had been stripped of his powers and its director cricket operations was being given the task to attend the ICC meeting. However, PCB official Nadeem Sarwar categorically denied all the rumours and said that confusion was being created about the relations between the two top officials of the PCB. Someone is spreading confusion inside the PCB and trying to develop friction when there is no truth in it, said the board official. But reports stated that the PCB chairman is due to leave for Sri Lanka and from there he will fly to England and all the working in the board is also being looked after by the PCB Director Operations and as has been learnt, he has been asked to keep the control in his hands in the absence of the PCB chairman. It has also been learnt that Wasim Bari met Sports Minister Ejaz Jakharani and briefed the lawmakers about his position and responsibilities.
