LAHORE - The Lahore High Court on Thursday sought record from a local commissioner about evidence of witnesses to decide election petition against PML-Q MPA Walayat Shah Khagga from PP-220, Sahiwal. Nazar Muhammad Fatyana, a defeated candidate from the same constituency, filed the election petition challenging the BA degree of the MPA. He said Khagga obtained the degree of BA from Azad Jammu Kashmir campus of Al Khair University, which was not a recognised institution by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). The petitioner pleaded the respondent MPA was not eligible to hold the seat of assembly so he should be declared disqualified on the basis of having fake degree. Next hearing will be held on June 23.
